Spiffy Cats Magazine’s Fitness Column

Thanks to the editor and creator, WJR Parks, of Spiffy Cats for giving me a column to write about something I am passionate about: Health.

But more than health. Strength.

This magazine is geared towards men, and a man should be strong, right? You don’t have to be Hercules or Schwarzenegger, but take care of your body and have a little muscle to provide and protect.

I won’t judge you either way. I’m not the kind.

The article is to help anyone needing that extra nudge to make change.

Be warned: as a men’s magazine, you may find nearly nude models or links to them. Think Playboy, or Maxim.

Mirren Hogan Interview

Mirren Hogan is celebrating the release of her historical fiction novel Night Witches. I asked her a few questions so you could get to know her.
Author interview questions

Mirren doesn’t know it, but I sampled the beginning of Night Witches through Amazon. I gotta say, it was very well-written and I will be purchashing a copy soon.

Tell me a bit about your hobbies.
I don’t have a lot of time for hobbies, but I like to read and take my dog for walks in the forest behind our house.
How did you get into writing?
I’ve always written, but I think that’s because I’m an avid reader. What I read gives me ideas and those ideas have to go somewhere.
Did you choose the genre you write in or do your stories lead you?
Both. I’ve dabbled in different genres, depending on the story I wanted to tell, from fantasy to horror, thrillers to historical.
Where can I get a copy? You can buy a copy from –

Amazon- https://www.amazon.com/Night-Witches-Mirren-Hogan/dp/1988281164/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484729011&sr=8-1&keywords=Night+Witches+mirren

How did you come up with the idea for this book?

I first heard of the Night Witches when a friend shared a post on Facebook. I immediately knew it’d make an amazing story and started hunting down every shred of information I could find.

Who is your favourite character in this story and why?

Lilya Litviak. She was a real person, and the highest scoring female air-ace in history. She was small, but sassy and feisty.

Ugly as Sin in CRITD III

Are you a fan of monsters? I am. Especially the cutesy ones that I grew up enjoying. You know, Critters, Gremlins, Tremors, Ghoulies and those things afraid of  “miyak” in Ernest Scared Stupid.

Well I have created my own in a horror/poilitical satire in “Ugly as Sin” and it has been accepted by the marvellous Edd and Kindra Sowder of Burning Willow Press.

Join the horror and fun of a good book this Fall as Henry and his daughter Tracy battle to save their politically corrupted Kentucky town.

You can still purchase CRITD II and read my apocalyptic tale “The Spirited Children,” and follow Benny Coomer as he rids the US of the fad dolls possessed by homeless spirits under the power of Thai hermits. This is a real things. Check out Luk Thep dolls on Youtube.

By the book via Amazon.

Rise Has a Cover

The details of the release are fast approaching. Pre-orders can be made on vagabondbooks.com.

My poems An Ammendment in Angst and Gun at My Head are alongside several others in this cause for justice and unity against tyranny and police brutality. Thanks Mark Lipman for putting it together.

Mon Ami, Le Papillon to leave cocoon

Chris Thompson at Penny Dreadful  has accepted my tragic-but-inspiring tale for an anthology in honor of one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time, Freddie Mercury.

Mon Ami, Le Papillon (My Friend, the Butterfly) is 13 pages long. Release date is set for Freddie’s birthday with all proceeds going towards charity for AIDS.

Not sure of details, but I know this project was approved by Brian May …so…yeah, that, like, rocks hard.

47-16 Volume II Out Now

I’m a little late on posting this due to travelling, training, and working overtime, but it isn’t any less exciting. I have yet another story in Volume II of this collection. You can purchase it through Amazon and feel the sweet satisfaction of knowing all your hard-spent cash is going to a great cause–cancer research.
